Servant Quarters

Description: These rooms are a dormitory with bunk beds, desk, and dresser.  There are two Ghouls per room for a total of 12.

Ghoul Servants (12)
HD 2 (d12), Hp 13, AC 14 (natural)
Fort +0, Ref +2, Will +5
Melee: Bite +2 to hit 1d6+1 + DC 12 Fort Sv or paralysis 1 turn

Servant Bathrooms

Description: Men and Women’s privies.  Nowhere near as nice as the Guest Bathrooms, but still very clean.  Unlike the downstairs, this one is filled with Gillmen.  They will spill out of the bathrooms and attack in the hallway.

Gillmen Warriors (12)
HD 2, Hp 11, AC 16 (natural)
Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4
Melee: Trident +4 to hit (1d8+3)
Ranged: Heavy Crossbow +3 to hit ranged 1d10 (5 bolts)
or Net  DC 12 Escape Artist or Str check to break, otherwise entangled 3 rds
(About half will be attacking with tridents, half with crossbows, and 2 with nets.  The Gillmen do not have the Crackshot ability and will refrain from shooting at anyone engaged in melee.)

Okay, here we go.

If the characters decided to kill Solomon (2 XP award), they’ll find him waiting in the corridor, spoiling for a fight.  Disposing of him, Causewell will come out and open the door to the Residents Area.

If the characters decide to go after the Gillmen, they’ll find them congregating near the bathrooms.  After a few words accusing the characters of collaborating with Causewell, they’ll attack.  Disposing of them (2 XP award), Causewell will come out and open the door to the Residents Area.

If the characters killed Causewell (2 XP award), there’s a shriek from a passing Ghoul, who sticks her head in the room and sees the body, “Causewell has been murdered!”  The Ghouls storm out of their quarters and attack the characters 1 rd later.  The Gillmen will arrive 2 rds later, and they will drive off the rest of the Ghouls.  The characters should have recovered Causewell’s key, so they’ll be able to open the door themselves.

(If the characters are true sociopaths and decide to slaughter the Ghoul servants themselves, award another 2 XP.  What the hell, clean house.  This is a poor use of resources however.  Their goal is to get rid of the ghosts.  Killing all of the servants doesn’t get them any closer to getting the gold.)
